Jurisdictional Advisory Committee

The Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) Jurisdictional Advisory Committee (JAC) is a statutory committee established under section 195 of the National Health Reform Act 2011

The JAC provides advice to the Pricing Authority on matters relating to IHACPA's work program including classification systems for health care and other services provided by public hospitals, hospital data collections, and policies to inform the development of the national efficient price. 

Membership of the JAC consists of a Chair appointed by the Pricing Authority and nine other members, one to represent each state, territory and the Australian Government.

JAC members are appointed by written instrument by the head of the health department of each state and territory. The Australian Government member is appointed by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Aged Care. The Chair is appointed by the Pricing Authority.
