Residential Aged Care Supplementary Pricing Advice 2024–25

Date published: 4 March 2025

Each year the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) provides evidence-based residential aged care and residential respite care pricing advice to the Australian Government.

On 18 September 2024, IHACPA published the Residential Aged Care Pricing Advice 2024–25.

Following the Fair Work Commission’s decision in relation to aged care nurses employed under the Nurses Award 2020 as part of the Work value case – Nurses and midwives, the Minister for Health and Aged Care wrote to IHACPA on 18 December 2024 to request supplementary pricing advice for 2024–25.

The Residential Aged Care Supplementary Pricing Advice 2024–25 supplements the Residential Aged Care Pricing Advice 2024–25. It updates the recommended Australian National Aged Care Classification price to incorporate the impact of the Fair Work Commission’s determination on the award wage increase for registered and enrolled nurses.

Information about the methodology used to develop this pricing advice is detailed in the Residential Aged Care Supplementary Pricing Advice 2024–25 Technical Specifications.
