The NHCDC Data Request Specifications (DRS) contain detailed guidance regarding the submission of NHCDC Public Sector 2018-19 data.
This report presents results from the NHCDC Public Sector 2018-19. It aims to summarise the expenditure within Australia’s public hospitals for the financial year 2018-19 as submitted by jurisdictions to the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (IHACPA).
For the NHCDC Public Sector 2018-19, IHACPA received data from 507 hospitals nationally. The total hospital expenditure submitted to the NHCDC Public Sector 2018-19 was $50.65 billion, an increase of 7.4 per cent from 2017-18.
The appendix to the NHCDC Report contains detailed tables relating to the collection and Data Quality Statements received from jurisdictions.
IHACPA requests jurisdictions provide a Data Quality Statement (DQS) with their annual NHCDC submission. The DQS allows jurisdictions to provide additional information about their data submission which may be pertinent in processing or interpreting the data.
