National Hospital Cost Data Collection (NHCDC) Public Hospitals Report - Round 16 (financial year 2011–12)

This National Hospital Cost Data Collection (NHCDC) Public Hospitals Report includes the results of participation across the various jurisdictions. The reports investigates a number of specific questions relating to hospital costs for admitted, non admitted and emergency department services. The report includes jurisdiction level data and the national cost weight tables.
NHCDC Data Set Specifications, Round 16 (Financial year 2011–12)
IHPA is responsible for determining relevant data set specifications to enable Activity Based Funding. These specifications have been developed in collaboration with IHPA’s committees and working groups.
NHCDC Public Hospitals Cost Report, Round 16 (Financial year 2011–12)
For the Round 16 NHCDC (data from 2011-12), there were 429 participating hospitals, located across all States/Territories, an increase of 77 (21.9%) from the 352 hospitals that participated in Round 15.
NHCDC Independent Financial Review, Round 16 (Financial 2011–12)
The National Hospital Cost Data Collection (NHCDC) is the primary data collection that IHPA relies on to calculate the National Efficient Price used for the funding of public hospital services. To ensure that the quality of NHCDC data is robust and fit-for-purpose, IHPA commissions an independent financial review to assess whether all participating hospitals have included appropriate costs and patient activity.
