Consultation Paper on the Pricing Framework for Australian Residential Aged Care Services 2025-26
Date published: 14 August 2024
The Pricing Framework for Australian Residential Aged Care Services underpins IHACPA’s approach in developing our residential aged care and residential respite care pricing advice to the Australian Government.
Each year, we hold a public consultation through the release of a consultation paper with some key questions. It is an opportunity for you to have your say in the development of the final pricing framework.
Your feedback can help shape the pricing and costing advice we provide to government.
The 2025-26 consultation
Everyone with an interest in residential aged care, from people living in residential aged care and their families or representatives, aged care workers, aged care providers of all types and size, healthcare providers and the public, was invited to have their say.
The focus areas in the Consultation Paper on the Pricing Framework for Australian Residential Aged Care Services 2025–26 include:
- Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) branching structure and funding model
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specialisation and base care tariffs
- homeless specialisation and base care tariffs
- residential respite care
- proposed changes to IHACPA’s residential aged care pricing principles.
We also welcomed general feedback about IHACPA’s role in residential aged care and residential respite care.
